Tomyris was born into a wealthy merchant family. She was raised well, being given a proper education and many formal lessons on etiquette and eloquence. Tomyris’ early life was that of a carefree nature, simply going along with her parents wishes, acting as their perfect daughter. Once she turned eighteen her parents asked her to take part in an arranged marriage to help strengthen their trades. Tomyris initially refused her parents wishes claiming she did not wish to marry a stranger. Her parents were displeased with her refusal and explained how they had already agreed to the marriage on her behalf. Furious with her parents, Tomyris stormed away to her room, locking the door behind her. Her parents knocked on the door pleading with Tomyris, the family was coming over that evening and they begged her to at least meet her future husband. Tomyris agreed to meet with her future husband, though her intention was to tell him directly that she will refuse his marriage. Upon the family’s arrival, dinner was quickly set up and Tomyris was led downstairs by her Mother to the banquet hall full of guests, seated right beside her husband to be. He introduced himself as an Ishgardian nobleman and explained how his family owned a store in the higher class area of Ishgard. A trade deal amongst both families would benefit them both greatly and Tomyris’ hand in marriage was offered as a show of commitment. Tomyris was clearly unamused, hearing her parents had basically used her as a bargaining chip made her extremely angry. She calmly explained to the nobleman that she had no intention of marrying him and that their families could simply enter upon a trade agreement without needing her to marry him. The noble simply laughed and ignored Tomyris’ statement, simply responding by explaining that the trade deal will not go through without her marrying him. Tomyris’ fist balled in anger as the dining table fell silent. “And what if I refuse to marry you?” She mumbled under her breath. The nobleman’s eyes narrowed into a sinister look. “Then your family will never do business in Ishgard again.” The arrogance in his voice sent Tomyris over the edge. She rose from the table and slapped the nobleman across the cheek before storming out of the banquet hall towards the back gardens. She stomped aimlessly through the gardens before stopping upon a lake. She sat down gently amongst the tall grass and broke down into tears. Many voices could be heard calling out for her in the dark, but she remained hidden amongst the tall grass refusing to reveal herself. After quite some time had passed, Tomyris had accidentally fallen asleep amongst the tall grass by the lake. When she opened her eyes she saw cinders drifting through the midnight sky. She quickly stood up and looked back towards her family’s villa. It had been set ablaze. Tomyris ran as fast as she could back towards the villa. As she got closer she saw her both her Father’s corpse buried amongst the flames. Her Mother’s screams could be heard around the front of the villa. Tomyris sprinted around the side of the villa towards the front entrance, there she saw her Mother being pinned down and brutally beaten by the Nobleman’s personal guard. Tomyris quickly ducked down behind a bush, watching on in horror as the men withdrew from the villa in their carriages. Tomyris ran to her Mother’s side asking if she was ok. The injuries she had sustained were too much and her Mother would not live to see sunrise. Tomyris held her Mother in her arms as the villa burnt to ash. Her Mother, using all the energy she had left explained to Tomyris that her Father actually owed the Nobleman a great deal of gil and when he was unable to pay the nobleman demanded Tomyris’ hand in marriage. After Tomyris had refused to marry him, he ordered his guards to strip the villa of all its valuables and set the place on fire. Tomyris’ Father was beaten unconscious and left to burn inside the Villa. The nobleman had sent guards to search for Tomyris and forcibly bring her back to him, though they were unable to find her and had assumed she had ran off into the woods. The nobleman then decided he would take Tomyris’ Mother as part of her Father’s debt owed, with plans of letting the guards use her for comfort. Though after she had tried to attack the nobleman with a steak knife she had stolen from the dinner table, the guards quickly beat her down before leaving her for dead. Tomyris continued to hold her Mother in her arms as her Mother’s consciousness slowly faded away. As the sun rose over the horizon, Tomyris carried her Mother down to the lake, burying her in a shallow grave. There she swore to seek revenge against the man who killed her family.Tomyris, now without a home and with only the few valuables she still owned to her name, set out across the countryside in search of revenge. Her journey lead her to New Gridania, where she stopped to sell what little she had left. She sold her gold jewellery and watch, leaving her with at least enough gil to cover her short term expenses. She quickly bought new clothing, as her ballgown had become quite frayed from travelling on foot. Alongside new clothes she also bought herself a pair of daggers and a revolver from the local smith. She paid for a room at the local inn and quickly collapsed into bed from exhaustion. Her dreams were filled with fire and smoke and she found herself awake, drenched in a cold sweat. The sun had barely even began to rise when she left her room and set out for Ishgard. Upon her arrival she quickly blended in with the crowd of lower class citizens, doing her best to not draw any attention from the nobility of Ishgard. She tirelessly stalked through the night, searching all over the city for the man who killed her family. After a few days of searching she spotted him roaming the trade districts of the upper class, alongside his fleet of personal guards. She decided the best course of action was to sneak inside his shop and wait for him in his office. She climbed up upon the roof of the building, before sliding through an open window on the second floor, there she waited for him to enter. After some time the nobleman entered his office and sat down by his desk, unbeknown to him Tomyris was perched upon a beam above. She silently drew her daggers and dropped down on top of her victim. The Noble screamed out in shock as the dagger pierced his shoulder, the second dagger quickly being driven into his side. Two guards burst through the door as they watched the Nobleman rapidly bleed out. Tomyris locked eyes with the pair before drawing her revolver. She fired off two shots, striking both guards in the chest, they dropped to the floor instantly. Hearing the gunshots more guards rapidly rushed into the room and overpowered Tomyris, quickly placing her in binds and knocking her unconscious. When Tomyris awoke she had been stripped of her weapons and was left dangling helplessly from the ceiling, her body was covered in bruises and she could taste blood on her breath. She struggled against her restraints but realised there was no chance of escape. A man entered the room, a sinister expression on his face. He revealed to Tomyris that the nobleman she had killed was actually part of an underground crime organisation. The organisation demanded she be kept alive as her family still owed debt. She was to be tortured and mentally broken before being auctioned off to the highest bidder as a slave. The man before her laughed maniacally before delivery a swift and brutal gut punch. Tomyris reeled in pain as her restraints kept her in suspended in the air. The man was to not inflict any wounds that would leave permanent marks, as this would decrease her value. He kept delivering swift blows to her body, making sure to not leave any permanent damage. After he was satisfied with the beating he lowered Tomyris to the ground and locked her in a cell. Tomyris would remain locked away for months, withstanding all attempts to break her spirit, vying for any chance to escape. After being locked up for over three months Tomyris finally escaped after feigning death. The guard removed her from the cell to check her vital signs when she jumped up and swiftly knocked them out with a kick. She quickly stole the guards keys and found herself some old clothes before escaping out onto the streets of Ishgard. With no gil to her name Tomyris hid herself onboard an airship sailing to Ul’dah though she didn’t know at the time where it was headed, she just needed to get away from Ishgard. After her arrival to Ul’dah she quickly settled in amongst the impoverished yet again, hoping to lay low and avoid being caught. She adopted a new name to help avoid being found. Tomyris, chosen after the name of a famous Queen from one of the books she read as a child, that was her name henceforth and the only name she would ever answer to again. Once the daughter of rich merchants to now, a homeless vagrant on the run, Tomyris’ life had taken quite the turn for the worse. She scraped by on the streets of Ul’dah. Dancing in the main trade districts to working late nights in the inns. Over time Tomyris got very clever with her tactics, often providing company to lonely adventurers before stealing their gil and disappearing into the night, leaving her clients none the wiser. She was shifty and distrustful of others, never staying in the same part of the city for long. Sometimes she would even travel all the way to Limsa Lominsa to practice her questionable techniques. She was desperate, doing whatever she could to survive in a harsh environment. Over the years, Tomyris would slowly settle down again, vowing to pick up honest work and leave behind her life of crime, she first secured a job as a merchant’s assistant, helping them compile their stocks and calculate all their expenses. As time went on, she used her keen intuition and compelling charm to secure the best deals around. Though she would quickly leave the job once people started mentioning her name. Despite at least two years passing, Tomyris was still worried about the wrong people finding her. Her mind was still scarred even though her body was clean. As more time passed, she started to worry less about her past life, she had found her calling, working at a saloon in New Gridania alongside some people she can now happily call friends. Though her past is rough, she does her best to move on, treating every new day as a blessing. Before, Tomyris only lived for revenge, determined to get back at the people that wronged her. But after lots of experiences and many new friends and family, she has let go of her past and desire for revenge. Now a bright face and sweet personality, Tomyris is akin to a desert rose, beautiful, thorny and resilient. As time wound on, Tomyris struggled to fully escape her past, still reluctant to enter Ishgard, she would avoid it with any chance she got, fearing that someone may recognise her. During a quiet day at the Saloon, a mysterious cloaked figure approached Tomyris, claiming to recognise her. She swiftly slammed the figure up against the wall, gripping his cloak in fury and fear. Aiming her gun straight against his head, she slowly let him pull back his hood, revealing an old friend. Her loyal Butler, Cyrus Azariah, whom she believed had perished in the house fire many years ago. Dropping to her knees in disbelief, Cyrus tried to comfort her, explaining that he had heard of a miqo'te sporting the same last name as him and he was intrigued. Embracing her tightly, he apologised for being unable to stop the Noblemen at the time, claiming he was responsible for all the terrible things that had happened. Fearing he had lost Tomyris and both her parents, he wandered Thanalan alone as penance, until one day he had heard whispers of a name too familiar: Azariah. The tales he heard led him to the Saloon, where he finally reunited with Tomyris, though many things had changed, he still felt unwavering loyalty to her, promising to stay by her side and protect her. Tomyris reassured him that what happened wasn't his fault, and that she no longer needed protection, urging him to let it go and be a free man, but his stubbornness reared its head as he vowed to stay. Unable to talk him down, Tomyris had no choice but to welcome him into the Saloon, though his initial stay was bumpy at best, often finding the establishment unruly and uncivilised. It took him weeks to recover from his initiation and the horrors he underwent, though his stalwart soul eventually recovered. After the initial shock of reuniting with Cyrus, life for Tomyris eventually settled back to normalcy, until one day, Cyrus finally told Tomyris a shocking truth. Her Father had been unfaithful during his marriage, conceiving a bastard child with one of the estate servants. Tomyris had a half-sister. Shocked by this knowledge, Tomyris demanded to know where her sister was, but Cyrus had no idea, simply stating her only knew of her existence and nothing else. Unfazed by Cyrus' words, Tomyris decided she needed to meet her half-sister, determined to meet what little family she still had and to tell her half-sister what happened to their Father.

Tomyris Azariah was born to a wealthy merchant family. After her Father accumulated a large amount of debt to an Ishgardian noble, he agreed to offer Tomyris’ hand in marriage as compensation. Tomyris refused her Father’s command and belittled the Noble when he came to visit. She ran into the back garden and hid from the Noble’s guards who came searching for her. Eventually she fell asleep hidden amongst the reeds by a lake. When she awoke, she saw embers drifting through the sky. The enraged noble had killed her Father and set their estate ablaze. Tomyris ran around to the front of the estate and watched on in horror as the guards brutally beat her Mother. Afterwards the men retreated from the estate, leaving her Mother to die and the building to burn to the ground. Tomyris held her Mother in her arms as she passed away.Tomyris swore vengeance and set out after the Noble. She first arrived in New Gridania where she sold whatever jewellery she possessed in exchange for weapons and new clothes. From there, she travelled to Ishgard, blending in with the lower class as she stalked through the city in search of the Noble. One day she spotted the noble wandering the trade district of the upper class. She carefully followed him back to one of his stores before slipping through an open window. She waited in his office for him to enter, concealing herself atop a beam in the roof. When the noble entered his office, she dropped down from the ceiling, stabbing him in the shoulder and ribs. The noble cried out for his guards and two men quickly burst through the door. Tomyris drew her gun and shot them both dead, the loud bangs causing a commotion amongst the remaining guardsmen. The guards overpowered Tomyris and knocked her unconscious. When she awoke she was in a dungeon chained to the ceiling. A shadowy figure entered the room, explaining that the noble she had killed was part of a massive underground crime syndicate. Tomyris was held prisoner underground, tortured by her captors until one day she managed to escape. She fled Ishgard by stowing away on an airship headed for Ul’dah.Upon her arrival she once again blended in with the impoverished locals, earning gil by any means. She adopted a new name: Tomyris, her old name forever forgotten. She remained in hiding for two years, working the streets of Ul’dah to make ends meet. Eventually she got a job as a merchant’s assistant, quickly securing the best deals and building herself a small fortune. After some time she left behind her merchant life, finding her true calling in a Saloon in New Gridania, the city she once called home. Now she spends most of her days managing the Saloon's finances or tracking down clients who didn't pay their tabs. Amongst her busy schedule, she still finds time to practice her marksmanship, being quite proficient with rifles. However she is just as quick on the draw with her trusty revolver.

Generally speaking, Tomy's personality isn't like my OOC one. Whilst she is typically a rather loud and outgoing person, I am a fairly reserved person (Unless you get to know me). However, Tomy and myself have shared similar metaphorical struggles, many of which I have included in her lore in one way, shape or form, it is by no means a 1 to 1 but the overall theme is similar. It is why I have no qualms against making her backstory dark and rather upsetting, though I can understand why many would be upset by it and that's ok, I rarely bring it up IC and OOC, Tomyris doesn't like talking about her past anyway. A good way to tell if I'm IC or OOC is that whilst inside a venue I am about 90% IC. Additionally, Tomy isn't a WoL, she is just a regular Joe Schmoe. However that doesn't mean we can't talk about actual FF content (I have finished EW). If you manage to spot me in the wild, I generally like to at least maintain Tomy's personality over my own, if you really want to talk to me OOC your best bet is to find me outside of the game using my discord. I'm happy to chat about OOC stuff, provided you don't make it weird.Any and all flirting, RP and ERP I do is STRICTLY IC. I am not looking for anything irl, I will block you if you try. If anything I say or do makes you uncomfortable IC or OOC please let me know and I'll apologise and dial it back, the last thing I wan't to do is upset anyone. Afterall, we're all just trying to have a good time. The only real exception to my OOC and IC rulings are if you are a minor. I do not interact with minors but I understand that sometimes you cannot avoid them, it is the internet afterall. I will not RP with minors, though I will be polite and am happy to talk OOC with them, though I will not accept discord friend requests from minors, nor talk with them outside of FF
